Last Sunday we attended Magnum’s Regent Street Party, and waited in line to get our free ice cream!
The weather was absolutely awful, it rained and drizzled all day, but around 1pm, the heavens opened! So I wasn’t in ice cream mood really, but a free is free, and I wouldn’t turn that down.
Between the two of us, we got a pink raspberry and a black espresso. The main issue was that the pink was not pink and the black was not black once unwrapped! It felt like a sham – the ‘pink‘ was a silvery dusty colour, and the ‘black‘ was unmistakably chocolate coloured. Yet the flavours were still great. I personally prefer coffee flavour ice cream, and so I would definitely recommend that.
The event itself was okay, they had singers and a fashion show…we were not very interested in that, but people were crowded around them so I guess it was worth the hassle. What we really wanted to try was the dipping stations, but alas the lines were enormous! And so we gave that a miss, as the rain was really starting to pour.
Another bizarre thing was that at the end of the day they lit up the London Eye in pink, as they claimed ‘you voted and here it is: we’ve lit up the London Eye pink!’ – but as my friend pointed out…it would not be possible to light it up black!!
Anyway, I dressed up as ‘sophisticated black‘ but with a hint of ‘playful pink‘ on my lips! So here are some photos from the day.
