Yesterday, my friends & I travelled to East London to the Columbia Road Flower Market (E2 7RG). This market is arguably one of the most well known flower markets in London, & having been I can see why. The market is situated just off Hackney Road & is surrounded by Victorian shops. Having opened in 1869, this well established Sunday market is blooming full of amazing flowers & plants!
The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Sunday, & hosts a variety of different plants. We went at 2:00 p.m. & the prices were unbeatable elsewhere. I bought a beautiful Moth Orchid for just £5, & bunches of ‘L.A. Dreamin’ & Mophead Hydrangeas for just £3 each. The L.A. Dreamin’ Hydrangeas are a beautiful mixture of purple, pink & blue flowers, & the Mophead have large white petals. Also if you want to release your inner Blair Waldorf, almost every stall sold an array of pink, white or red Peonies!
So next Sunday get on down to Columbia Road & enjoy the sweet scent of London’s best flowers!
