From Left to Right: Exfoliating Scrub, Cleans All and Mud Masque

I have started this new skincare regime recently, and wanted to tell you about what I’ve been using and what I think about it!
I have been using a number of Skinfood products from New Zealand for a little while now, and I genuinely can already see improvements to my skin.

Every other day, I start by using the Exfoliating Scrub, with walnut shell, cucumber extract, manuka honey, aloe vera, sweet almond and lime. You simply massage onto moist skin using your fingers and rinse it off with water. This removes dead skin cells, and leaves your skin feeling refreshed.
Afterwards, I use the Cleans All cleanser, which again contains manuka honey, as well as kiwi and limeflower extracts, sunflower oil and aloe vera. I tend to use this both morning and night because it leaves my skin feeling really revitalised by removing any dirt and oils.
Finally I use the Certified Organic Coco + Nut Oil, which just needs 2-3 drops after cleaning, to the face, neck and/or body, morning or night. It’s a really great, light-weight moisturiser, that helps to repair and hydrate your skin.
About once a week I use the Mud Masque, which contains Rotorua Mud, found in the volcanic muds of New Zealand, jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, spirulina and lavender oil. I found that after even one use, my pores looked smaller, and my skin felt really soft.
Finally, after showering, I have been using the Body Butter, which has manuka honey, coconut, avocado and macadamia nut oils, mango and cocoa butter. I find it works straight away, and relieves and hydrates the skin.

I think when you move to a new skincare regime, it really helps to use the products as and when specified, so you can get the full benefit from each product.
All in all, I would say that so far, I think these products are working well, and I definitely feel my skin is looking and feeling better.

I did a little research, and all the products contain ingredients that are sourced from sustainable suppliers (which is always good!), come in recyclable packaging, and also are approved by the Vegetarian Society.

And to finish off… I’ll leave you with a picture of little ol’ me using the Mud Masque – Enjoy your Saturday!

Detox Water

Detox Water: Fresh Mint Tea
Flowers: Gypsophila (Baby’s Breath)

Hey,

I just want to let you all know about my current obsession, Detox Water. I followed @detoxwater ‘s instagram account for a long time, and always thought their images looked so beautiful. And so I was so excited when I got my hands on a DROPbottle (@dropbottle instagram). Since then, I have been infusing my water with so many different fruits and herbs.
My favourite has to be oranges, pink grapefruit and red grapefruit. There are so many combinations, all of which have different health benefits!

Have a lovely Saturday, and for those in the UK, enjoy Mother’s Day tomorrow!

Sunday 28th February – A Perfectly Ordinary Day

Magazine: British Vogue
Shoes: Zara
Nail Polish: Dolce & Gabanna, Grey Pearl
Perfume: Bvlgari, Jasmin Noir

Today:…I have done nothing, and it has been magical. As some of you might know, I am in my final year of university, and tomorrow I have to hand in my dissertation. It is a whopping 10,000 word essay on criminality, handedness, lateralization and psychology…I would not recommend reading it. Nonetheless, I have been super keen and nerdy and finished early, which has meant that today, for the first time in months, I have been able to unashamedly do absolutely nothing with my day.

I woke up, and lazily dozed for hours before bothering to shower and face the world. I say I did nothing, but really I mean I did no work, because I did manage to haul myself to a family lunch and stuff myself silly. This afternoon was filled with reading vogue and painting my nails, and honestly it was one of the best days I’ve had. (I know how sad that sounds, but Uni has been crazy hectic lately). So I just wanted to share my completely boring, average day with you all, which for me was beautifully not busy and perfect in every way.

Hope you all had a lovely Sunday, and Monday wont be as bad because it is a leap day which I find more exciting than you can imagine.

Patrick Grant x anCnoc

image-7

Hey guys!

So, I was recently  given the opportunity to try anCnoc’s new whisky (pronounced a-nock), Blas. I have never really drunk much whisky, and when I had, it was often mixed, like in a Whisky Sour. So I was really happy to give this a try, and open my eyes to what seems to be a rather masculine drink.

This limited edition bottle, which has been designed by the award-winning fashion designer, Patrick Grant, is honey coloured in appearance, but sweet and fruity in taste, with clear lemon and orange peel notes. What made the whole experience even better was that I was given a beautiful silk scarf with the same design as on the bottle, which I have tied to my favourite handbag!

All in all, I genuinely really enjoyed this whisky, and it definitely helped that I felt like Don Draper whilst drinking it!

Have a lovely Saturday everyone. xx

National Lobster Day – Possibly the Best Day of the Year

The best day all year has arrived! Yes, you know what that means – It’s National Lobster Day! I have the biggest love for all things seafood, but nothing compares to lobster in my mind.

What was once a food item only for the wealthy, lobster is now available at all price ranges and I couldn’t be happier! So today I went and ate by myself (something I rarely do…I get scared!) and went to Fraq’s Lobster Shack at 55 Goodge Street, W1T 1TQ. I ordered for just £7.95 a Boston Lobster Roll with Garlic Mayo! You can upgrade to get a side order for just £9.90 as well. The regular size roll is small, but well filled, so I wasn’t bursting full, but was a very satisfied customer none the less!

This week Fraq’s is doing an Instagram competition with#BeMyLobster, and are giving away prizes each day! So get on over to Goodge Street and eat the food of kings!

Columbia Road Flower Market – Sunday Funday

Yesterday, my friends & I travelled to East London to the Columbia Road Flower Market (E2 7RG). This market is arguably one of the most well known flower markets in London, & having been I can see why. The market is situated just off Hackney Road & is surrounded by Victorian shops. Having opened in 1869, this well established Sunday market is blooming full of amazing flowers & plants!

The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Sunday, & hosts a variety of different plants. We went at 2:00 p.m. & the prices were unbeatable elsewhere. I bought a beautiful Moth Orchid for just £5, & bunches of ‘L.A. Dreamin’ & Mophead Hydrangeas for just £3 each. The L.A. Dreamin’ Hydrangeas are a beautiful mixture of purple, pink & blue flowers, & the Mophead have large white petals. Also if you want to release your inner Blair Waldorf, almost every stall sold an array of pink, white or red Peonies!

So next Sunday get on down to Columbia Road & enjoy the sweet scent of London’s best flowers!
