This September I had the amazing pleasure to shoot a gorgeous fall/winter look with the Chanel Beauty team in their Old Spitalfields Market store.

The Fall Winter 2018 Collection, APOTHEOSIS, LE MAT DE CHANEL, focuses on texture, adding matte finishes to the eyes and lips promoting depth of colour to the surface. The collection proclaims intelligence, maturity and serenity, thanks to the expertise of Lucia Pica,  Global Head Of Makeup and Colour Design. In her own words, she describes the woman who would wear this finish as “confident, sophisticated and elegant”, seeing her as an “intellectual but still daring. She is completely unapologetic – my favourite kind of woman!”.

The colour palette brings earthy, autumnal shades to the table, as one would expect for Fall Winter collections, contrasted with vivid reds and bold navy blues. These new blue trends can be seen on the eyes with the Les 4 Ombres eye palette in 312 Quiet Revolution as well as with the Stylo Ombre Et Contour eye pencil in 14 Graphique. The deep reds can be found in the Rogue Allure Liquid Powder, such as in 956 Invincible, the Le Vernis nail colour in 636 Ultime (note the smooth matte finish), and also in the red/copper eye liner, Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 928 Eros.

For the shoot, we worked with the very talented Madalin Pirvu and I had my hair and make up done by Alexis Day (who wonderfully masked my bad skin, adding a dewy, healthy complexion that was 100% down to the Hydra Beauty Lotion and Serum, as well as the Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow foundation she used).

The look focused on the red aspect of the collection, with a smoky copper eye and a bright red lip. I loved this bold look, especially as in Autumn and Winter we tend to cover up, and be less expressive with our appearance. The collection enabled me to play with new colour choices for the season, allowing my face to be showcased even in the dark, gloomy winter days. I particularly loved pairing the bright lip with the dark eye but having the colours be from the same spectrum. It isn’t often that one can match these features yet also create a striking contrast.

You can watch the full look be created below.

I just want to finish with a huge THANK YOU to the Chanel Beauty team for asking me to take part in this, it has been an absolute pleasure!

xx
